Some cities don't leave you. They stay in the body. In the rhythm of a bicycle, the rumble beneath the street, the particular way light falls on steel at seven in the morning.

Burned Orange is a series of five charcoal drawings of the New York City subway infrastructure. Its elevated tracks, its girders, its stations caught mid-motion. Each piece is poured with epoxy in a signature burned orange, creating a sunglow that shifts across the series: from the pale warmth of a Williamsburg morning to the deep amber-red of a downtown dusk.

The charcoal captures the rawness of the structure; raw, industrial, real. The epoxy does something else entirely. It floods the scene with light, transforming steel and concrete into something that glows from within. Together they hold the tension that makes New York what it is: grit and golden light, always at the same time.

These are not postcards. They are memories with weight. The feeling of cycling from Williamsburg to SoHo, the city moving around you, the sun low and burning orange above the tracks.
